How to Cut Men's Hair

If you’ve been scared to give a guy’s haircut, I recommend giving it a try! It’s so easy and foolproof as long as you use a clipper guide that is the correct length.
The clipper guides are all labeled with their length. Choose a length that you want your boy’s hair to be. If you aren’t sure, start with a large length, you can always trim closer. Go over the entire head with your chosen clipper guide.
** Helpful hint: Cole likes to have his hair cut to 1/4 of an inch. However, if it’s been a while the long hair will catch when trying to cut so short. So I cut his head with a longer guide and then switch to the smaller guide to prevent pulling and catching.
After you have clipped the hair down to the desired length, remove the clipper guide. This is where you need a steady hand so as not to make a mistake and have to shave shorter. Use the clippers to trim gently around the ears, around the face, sideburns, and the hair on his neck.
After you’re done, have him shower and return. Use scissors to trim hairs that were missed the first time through. Or, if lots of hairs were missed, put the clipper guide back on and go over his entire head again. Finally, shake out all that hair for the birds to enjoy!
That’s it! It’s so easy, I guarantee that you can do it!
